Responsibilities

Public Works is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, landscaping, and repairing all public property in the Town. Public Works employees also set up Jarvis Hall for every public and private event held there by various Town organizations.

Public Works is also responsible for:

  • Stormwater drainage and irrigation systems
  • Landscaping
  • Sewer and water lines
  • Sidewalks and parks
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Facility Maintenance
  • Wastewater transmission infrastructure

In addition to ensuring Town vehicles operate safely, Public Works monitors construction and all Capital Improvement projects.

How often is the beach cleaned? The beach is cleaned seven days a week in the mornings. The Town contracts with Beach Raker, a private firm.
