The Town recently created an educational display about SS Copenhagen, a British steamship that struck a coral reef off present-day Lauderdale-By-The-Sea in May 1900. The display can be seen in Jarvis Hall, the Town's community center. It includes a 20-inch model of the ship and several photographs. The wreck is a Florida Underwater Archaeological Preserve and is listed on the National Register of Historic Place.
